Desert Dolphins June Presentation: Essential Lifesaving Skills with Instructor Vance Tanner
Being a responsible diver means being prepared for the unexpected. On Wednesday, June 17th, the Desert Dolphins Scuba Club will host its monthly educational presentation, focusing on a critical aspect of dive safety.
Our guest speaker for the evening is Vance Tanner, a veteran diver whose underwater journey began in 1965 off the California coast. Over the decades, Vance has dedicated himself to dive safety and education, becoming a Dive Master in the late 90s and a Scuba Instructor at the turn of the millennium. With extensive experience teaching Rescue, CPR, and First Aid, Vance holds instructor credentials with DAN, HSI, and the American Heart Association, and currently focuses on training instructors for the American Red Cross.
During this presentation, Vance will address a high-stakes scenario every diver should be prepared for: how to respond once an injured diver is out of the water, unresponsive, and not breathing.
This session will provide invaluable, practical insights that could save a life. Whether you are a newly certified open-water diver or a seasoned professional, we encourage all members to attend this vital presentation.

Frustrated with Video Production/Video? Me too! I’m not shy about admitting that I really don’t know how to create a decent video. And yes, I’ve attended some online how-to-do-it presentations. I’ve exited those presentations as clueless as when I entered."
